My journey with Skyline SIB has been a deeply transformative experience. From the moment I stepped into this church, I felt an overwhelming sense of acceptance and belonging. This community has allowed me to be my true self and found a place where I can linger, connect, and grow spiritually.
The opportunities to serve at Skyline SIB have been nothing short of life-changing. Each role I’ve taken on has enriched my faith and deepened my relationship with the Lord. The opportunity to lead a Cell Group (CG) from earlier this year has been a humbling and enlightening experience. Learning from members with vast life experiences and profound wisdom has taught me so much about resilience, faith, and the power of community. Through our CG gatherings, I’ve seen how the Lord works in their lives, and it has strengthened my own faith.
I also have the privilege of serving in the greeter’s ministry. This role has opened my eyes to the importance of first impressions and the power of a warm welcome. Every Sunday, I get to greet both familiar faces and newcomers with a smile and a handshake, creating an atmosphere of love and acceptance. It’s amazing to see how these simple gestures can make people feel valued and cared for, setting the tone for their entire worship experience.
As one of the coordinators, connect ministry bridges the gap for newcomers, ensuring they find their place within our church family. Witnessing new members find their footing and grow in their faith has been incredibly rewarding. It’s a constant reminder of how we are all interconnected as parts of the body of Christ, each with unique gifts and purposes.
Through these roles, I’ve learned that serving is not about recognition or accolades. but about reflecting God’s love and grace. The Lord has used these opportunities to mold me, teaching me lessons in humility, patience, and compassion. Serving others has brought me immense joy and has been a powerful tool for my spiritual growth.
One of the most profound lessons I’ve learned is that true leadership is about service. It’s about putting others’ needs before your own and being a vessel for God’s work. Each interaction, each moment of service, is an opportunity to demonstrate God’s love and to grow in faith. The responsibilities I’ve been entrusted with have challenged me and pushed me out of my comfort zone, but they have also brought me closer to God and to the community around me.
